Tees Barrage 10k 2018 Information

Dear Fellow Runners,

Thank you for entering the Tees Barrage 10k race on Monday 7th May 2018. Detailed below is some important information about the event. Please read it carefully. If you have any queries please don’t hesitate to contact the Race Director.

Location & Registration

Durham University Queens Campus Sports Centre, University Blvd, Stockton-on-Tees. TS17 6BH. There is plenty of free parking both at Durham University Sports Centre and at the Whitewater Sports Centre.

Registration

Registration opens at 09:15 and will close at 10:15am. Please allow yourself plenty of time as it will get really busy, goodie bags will be collected in registration.

Race Number

Race numbers will be collected on the day in registration. Designated queues will be formed in alphabetical order so please ensure on arrival you are in the correct line. Please ensure that your race numbers are pinned to your front so it can easily be seen by the timekeepers. Please ensure that you wear the correct number that you are registered with for Health & Safety. Under no circumstances must the race number be transferred without the organisers consent.

Race

The race will start at 10:30am starting on Navigation Way approximately 300 meters from registration, close to the barrage. The terrain is all on tarmac, mainly flat with a few slight inclines, taking in some fantastic iconic landmarks along the way. The course is well marked out with directional arrows and marshals on all key points. There will be a lead cyclist to guide the start of the race. There will also be a sweep first aid cyclist at the back. There is a water station situated half way round the course. The finish is located near the start next to the university on the south side of the river.

Facilities

At the Durham University Queens Campus Sports Centre there are plenty of toilet and changing facilities, showers, baggage area. There are catering facilities in the International White Water course and the Talpore.

First Aid

First Aid will be onsite and around the course. Should you require any medical attention please let the nearest marshal know, who will contact the first aiders.

Prizes

Prize presentation will be done at 11:45am near to the finish location. There will be 1st, 2nd, 3rd and vet prizes given. Family Air Trail tickets to be won on the day courtesy of Tees Active.

An additional cash prize will be given to the winner who can beat the time of the 10k when muddy roads took over in 2016. The time to beat set by Andy Wiles of New Marske Harriers is 00:32:24 Think you can beat it?

Goody bags are given to all participants.

The Daisy Chain 5k Trail

Wednesday 30th May 2018 – 7:00pm

Back again for it’s 2nd year this 3 mile trail is mainly flat and fast, but we couldn’t do a run without a challenging climb and a little cheeky one at the end, with plenty of horses in the surrounding fields some maybe tempted to hitch a ride!

In association with Daisy Chain, for every entry £1 will be donated to the charity. Raising money for families with Autism.

Wynyard Hall 10k Trail and 2k Fun Run 2018

30th September 2018

We are excited to announce the Wynyard Hall 10k is Back! This year will also include a 2k junior fun run so the kids can join in. This trail will take you around the stunning grounds of Wynyard Hall. Running deep through the beautiful forestry, alongside the lake and past the enchanting Wynyard Hall. This course is undulating with plenty of opportunities to take in the beautiful surroundings.

Tees Barrage Night Trail

Well Done to all those that braved the weather to run the fab route around the trails of the Tees Barrage. We certainly were lucky to have missed the treacherous snowfall that eventually came our way.

Huge thank you to all the Marshal’s who helped guide you around the route, great job as always!  Great thanks to the First Aid Team.

December 5k Tees Night Trail On The Day Registration

Wednesday December 6th. Starting and finishing at the Tees Barrage White Water Course

Collect your running number and on the night registration is 18:00 – 18:45 upstairs in the Talpore.

This night trail is open to any level of ability from a club runner to a recreational runner. This route offers a mix of terrain from tarmac to woodland. Taking in the watercourse, running along the Tees and seeing stars at night.

Halloween Trail Results

Great turn out for the Halloween 5k Trail Event seeing some spectacular costumes by all the runners, they all looked amazing!  To see a wave of over 200 runners all dressed up wearing head torches was a fantastic sight to see.   Running along the River Tees  with only the moonlight to guide them along the way, once entering into the woods all sense of security was completely lost as the fantastic Ghost and Ghoulies were waiting in the bushes  hunting the runners down. Screams could be head from the Talpore as runners were chased down by the blood thirsty zombies and clowns.  Thank fully everyone made it back to the finish line to collect there medal.

We hope you enjoyed the event and we see you all again next year.

Huge thank you to all the students at Stockton Riverside College who delivered a brilliant array of Ghosts & Ghoulies, fantastic job!

Halloween 5k Trail on Wednesday 1st November

Hello Halloween Trail Runners,

Thank you for entering the Halloween 5k Trail on Wednesday 1st November you are surely in for a treat! Hope you have your costumes at the ready (optional)? Below is some important information about the event so please take the time to read through it. NO TRANSFERS WILL BE MADE ON THE NIGHT, so please dont just turn up or you will be disappointed! Any questions please feel free to ask.

Location

The Talpore, Whitewater Way, Thornaby, Stockton-on-Tees TS17 6QB
There is a Bar so bring your pennies for a beer/proscecco afterwards and celebrate that you are still alive!!!

Parking

There is plenty of Free car parking situated at the Talpore.

Registration

Registration is upstairs and opens at 18:00 Please allow yourself plenty of time as it will get really busy. (No Muddy Shoes Allowed please)

Race Number

Race numbers will be collected on the day in registration. These are barcoded and can either be pinned to your top (safety pins provided) or you can pop it in your pocket. Please make sure you have it scanned once you have come through the finish funnel or you will not be on the results.

The Race

The race will start at 19:00 starting next to the River near the White Watercourse The terrain is very mixed, with tarmac, trails, fields and woodland. The course is fairly flat with a couple of inclines. YOU MUST WEAR A HEAD TORCH, No head torch No run! double check that your head torch works beforehand. Please make sure that your costumes (if you are wearing one) is safe to run in, it ideally needs to be no lower than your ankles and not floaty to snag on any trees, fencing and vegetation.

Ghosts & Ghoulies

Oh you wont know which way to run from these, they are literally everywhere! Feeling scared?? run in groups/pairs all you have to remember is they are NOT allowed to physically touch you so they cant hurt you. Likewise, please do not strike or harm them in any way.

Facilities

There are toilets situated in the Talpore, please be respectful of the restaurant and bar users, I am sure they will have a great time seeing you all dressed up too.

First Aid

First Aid will be onsite should you require any medical attention please let the nearest marshal know, who will contact the first aiders.

Prizes

There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd male and female prizes given. All finishers will receive a medal.

PiePie & Pea night trail will certainly not disappoint. These pies are bursting at the seams with delicious fillings. You will certainly be getting a PB to get your hands on one of these beauties. Online entries for this great event closes on Sunday 18th February at Midnight. Don’t miss out on getting your pie and peas.

You need to register before the event to receive a pie and pea supper after the race.

On the night entry will be available for this event but you will not get pie and peas. The on the night entry fee will be reduced to take this into account. That said this event did sell out last year so there were no on the night entries. Don’t miss out, sign up early online.

5k Tees Night Trail. This night trail is open to any level of ability from a club runner to a recreational runner. This route offers a mix of terrain from tarmac to woodland. Taking in the watercourse, running along the Tees and seeing stars at night.

Head torches are a must to find your way through those woodland areas. Watch out for the seals and other creatures on route!
