Halloween 5km Event Details – 30 October 2023

Hey there Spooky Halloween runners!

Big thanks for signing up for our Halloween 5km Trail Race at HMP Kirklevington! We’re all about fun, fancy dress, and a bit of a run. Below you'll find all you need to know about the event any questions – just shout at events@muddyroads.co.uk.

Where’s the Party (I mean, Race): HMP Kirklevington Grange, Kirklevington Grange, Yarm TS15 9PA

Grab Your Race Number: Pop over to the Kirklevington Grange Cafe. Between 5:30pm - 6:20pm (safety pins are provided)

Race Starts: 6:30pm near the café

Reminder: Since we’re having some of our spooky fun inside the prison grounds, no watches or phones this time, please. Leave them in your car. We've got the timing sorted, so you'll get your results super quick.

Fancy Dress Alert: It’s Halloween, so feel free to dress up! Whether it's a ghoul, a witch, or a pumpkin – let's make it a run to remember! You never know you just might win the fabulous prize of a FREE car valet plus a meal and drink at the café whilst you wait!

Parking: There's free parking at the prison and extra spots near the café. Just remember don’t park along the road by the prison. We need that clear for our spooky run. Park in the bays, and all’s good!

Facilities: We’ve got toilets, but they are very limited, so make sure you visit the toilet before you leave home, you certainly don’t want to be caught short in the woods now do you.

The Course: Start near the café, a mix of tarmac, and grass, and a spooky stroll through the woods, 3 laps, one small, 2 large with a little loop in the prison grounds, and finish right back where you started. Keep your eyes peeled for the directional arrows and our fantastic marshals. The course can become wet and muddy through the woodland area when its been raining, so extra care to be taken. IMPORTANT - It is mandatory you MUST wear a head or chest torch throughout the event.

First Aid: The Total Events Safety Team is here if you need them. Any problems, just holler at a marshal.

Beware of Facebook Scammers: Watch out for fake ticket sales on Facebook. Remember, all legit transfers go through Muddy Roads.

Results & Prizes: Check out your race results on our website and Facebook page post-race. Prizes for the top three male and female finishers, handed out as you cross the line. There is cake for all finishes…………..
