Santa 10km Event Details

Thank you for entering the Santa 10km Trail Race. Detailed below is some important information about the event. Please read the information carefully, if you have any questions do not hesitate to contact Gary (Race Director) at

LOCATION: The Trimdon Grange Community Centre, Salters Ln, Trimdon Grange, Trimdon Station TS29 6PB

REGISTRATION: In the community centre opens at 09:30 and closes at 10:15. Please collect your race number on the day.

RACE STARTS: 10:30am

PARKING: FREE parking is available at the community centre and at the local shops next door.

FACILITIES: Toilet facilities are available

COURSE: The course: The Santa 10km Route

The course starts on a flat open field before crossing over a live road, although it is a quiet road care most be taken at all times when crossing. The road is not closed so you must stop for the traffic. DO NOT take risks for the sake of a couple of seconds. There will be a marshal to help guide you across. Once over the road you will then head down the walkway before taking a left turn and up towards the trail along the A177, after a short distance you will then take a left turn and head up the pathways alongside Coxhoe Beck on the Limestone LinX cycle & walkways. Leaving the walkways heading up a nice climb through farmland onto Bradyll St before hitting the softer ground. Once past the quarry you will head down the steps taking a left turn back onto the walkway and heading towards the finish. This course is flat for the first section but then you start to climb your way up so leave a little in the tank.  There will be directional arrows and marshal’s on key spots, along with a tail runner (holly)

Trail shoes are advisable if possible.

START: Once you have collected your race number and Santa hat, please make your way to the start The start is located on the field approx. 0.31 meters from the community centre. There will be directional arrows to help guide you to the start.

FINISH: The finish is located on the walkway. Once you have come over the ‘finish mat’ please be mindful of other runners coming through and maintain your distance.

MEDAL & SELECTION BOX: You will collect your medal and selection box once you cross the finish line.

FIRST AID: There will be First aiders (Total Events Safety Team) on site. If you require attention/help during the race or after, please ask any marshal who will contact the first aiders.

If you need to return to the community centre after the race please do not enter with your muddy shoes on!


 If you are showing any signs of Covid-19 symptoms, please DO NOT attend the event:

  • A high temperature
  • A new, or continuous cough

In addition, you should not attend if you have:

  • Been in contact with anyone showing and signs of Covid-19 symptoms in the past 14 days
  • Been asked to self-isolate by the NHS track and trace service
  • Travelled within the last 14 days to an international location where self-isolation is required following your visi

Prizes given for 1st 2nd and 3rd male and female winners. These will be given as the runners come across the line.
