The Course: Serpentine Route
The course starts behind the Cricket Club on East Park before heading down and into Hardwick Park where the first mile will take you around its pathways. From here you head out of the back of the park towards the village of Bishop Middleham. You are now on trail paths with a mixture of dirt, gravel and grass underfoot. After navigating some farmers fields you head along a grass path and up and over the old railway line. From here you cross some more fields as you pull up towards Bishop Middleham. The village comes into view as you descend and do a sharp right and start to head back towards Sedgefield. As you head up through a cornfield, you will be nearing the Aid Station. After crossing the old railway line once again you pull up through woodland next to the Nature Reserve and then the golf course. You cross the golf course and then head into further woodland before taking a sharp right as you approach the back of Hardwick Hall Hotel. From here you cross the hotel grounds before heading back into Hardwick Park for a loop of the path around the Lake and then back out the way you came under the underpass to the finish on East Park.
There will be marshals in key areas and where possible gates will be opened. The course will be marked out with signs and tape.
Start: Once you have collected your race number/registered, please make your way to the start. The start is located just behind the Cricket Club on East Park.
Important: there to be absolutely no clearing of nasal or respiratory secretions whilst waiting or running. If necessary, it must be done at least 10m away from anyone else on course. Participants advised not to run in slipstream of other participants.
Finish: The finish is located on the same field as the start. Once you have come over the ‘finish mat’ please be mindful of other runners coming through and maintain your distance
