Dear Fellow Runners,
Thank you for entering the Tees Barrage 10k race on Monday 1st May 2017. Detailed below is some important information about the event. Please read it carefully. If you have any queries please don’t hesitate to contact the Race Director.
Location & Registration
Durham University Queens Campus Sports Centre, University Blvd, Stockton-on-Tees. TS17 6BH. There is plenty of free parking both at Durham University Sports Centre and at the Whitewater Sports Centre.
Registration opens at 09:00 and will close at 10:15am. Please allow yourself plenty of time as it will get really busy, goodie bags will be collected in registration.
Race numbers will be collected on the day in registration. Designated queues will be formed in alphabetical order so please ensure on arrival you are in the correct line. Please ensure that your race numbers are pinned to your front so it can easily be seen by the timekeepers. Please ensure that you wear the correct number that you are registered with for Health & Safety. Please complete the medical information form on the back. Under no circumstances must the race number be transferred without the organisers consent.
The race will start at 10:30am starting on Navigation Way approximately 300 meters from registration, close to the barrage (see map attached
). The terrain is all on tarmac, mainly flat with a few slight inclines, taking in some fantastic iconic landmarks along the way. The course is well marked out with directional arrows and marshals on all key points. There will be a lead cyclist to guide the start of the race. There will also be a sweep first aid cyclist at the back. There is a water station situated half way round the course. The finish is located near the start next to the university on the south side of the river.
At the Durham University Queens Campus Sports Centre there are plenty of toilet and changing facilities, showers, baggage area. There are catering facilities on site selling a great variety of food and drink. There are sports massages and physio’s at the finish to help with any sore muscles!
First Aid will be onsite and around the course. Should you require any medical attention please let the nearest marshal know, who will contact the first aiders.
Prize presentation will be done at 11:45am near to the finish location. There will be 1st, 2nd, 3rd and vet prizes given. Keep your race number on as we will be donating some fantastic prizes which include a great meat hamper, and Air trail tickets kindly donated by Hall’s Meat and Tees Active. Goody bags are given to all participants.
