Muddy Roads 5km Summer Series: They’re Back for 2026!

How’s about lacing up those trainers for the Muddy Roads 5km Summer Series? Whether you’re a proper club runner or just fancy a jog, these events are perfect. They’re all about community vibes, a good laugh, and some beautiful routes. Plus, we’ve got a brilliant deal this year – if you sign up for the whole series, you get one event absolutely FREE!

Here’s the great lineup: Please note all the events are on Thursday’s barring the first one at Middridge!

Race 1: The Middridge, 22nd April (wednesday)

Race 2: The Saltburn, 21st May

Race 3: Lordstones, 25th June

Race 4: The Pine Forest, 23rd July

Race 5: Newham Grange Farm, 20th August

Race 6:  The Kirklevington HMP,  3rd September

Registration for the whole series ends on Tuesday 21st April 2026

Aged 12 or over? Brilliant, you’re in! There’s plenty of parking at most of the venues, limited at some and don’t fret, we’ve got loos sorted too.

Registration opens: 17:30 – 18:20pm

Races Start: 18:45pm

Looking for a bit of a challenge? Over £1000 in prizes are up for grabs throughout the series. And here’s a special shoutout: the top Male and female of the series will each be pocketing £100, all thanks to Up & Running in Darlington. But there’s more!

*PLEASE NOTE – You MUST enter the series before the start of the first race, once the first event has been delivered you will no longer be able to enter the series as a whole. You will then need to enter each race separately.

Just a couple of small notes: no dogs, please, and the route’s not ideal for pushchairs or wheelchairs.
