The Pine Forest 5km Event Details

We’re really looking forward to seeing you at The Pine Forest 5km Trail 2026 on Thursday 23rd July.

This is Race 4 of our Muddy Roads Summer Trail Series and another fantastic evening of trail running! Set in the beautiful Flatts Lane Country Park, the route takes you through scenic woodland trails with fantastic views towards Roseberry Topping and the surrounding area.

Whether you're racing for a top spot or simply heading out to enjoy the trails, you're in for a cracking evening!

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the event:

Event Date: Thursday 23rd July 2026

Registration: Flatts Lane Country Park

5:30pm – 6:30pm

Race Start: 6:45pm

Registration Location: Flatts Lane Country Park, Flatts Lane, Middlesbrough, TS6 0NN

Parking: Free parking is available at Flatts Lane Country Park.

Please park considerately and allow yourself plenty of time when arriving, as parking can become busy around event time.

Free toilet facilities are also available.

Baggage & Valuables:

You can store your baggage in registration but it will be at your own risk. Keep all valuables in your car.

The Course & Terrain:

The Pine Forest 5km is a scenic and challenging trail route through Flatts Lane Country Park.

Expect a mixture of woodland trails, forest tracks and some testing climbs along the way! You'll be rewarded with fantastic views towards Roseberry Topping and the surrounding countryside. It's a tough little 5km – but a brilliant one!

First Aid: First aid cover will be available throughout the event.

If you require assistance at any point, please alert the nearest marshal.

Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to:

1st Male & 1st Female (£20)

2nd Male & 2nd Female (£15)

3rd Male & 3rd Female (£10)

Spot prizes also be given.

Chip Timing: This event is fully chip timed. Please collect your timing chip at registration.

IMPORTANT: Remove your chip immediately after crossing the finish line and return it as directed.

Summer Series Runners – Important

If you entered the full Summer Series or have already completed the previous Summer Series events:

You MUST bring your Summer Series race number with you.

On arrival:

 - Visit registration

 - Sign in

 - Collect your timing chip

If you have forgotten or lost your race number, a replacement can be issued for £1.

Summer Series Prizes:

To be eligible for the Summer Series prizes, you must complete 4 of the first 5 races in the series.

Series 1st male & 1st Female prizes include £100 vouchers for Up & Running Darlington.

Dogs: Unfortunately, dogs are not permitted in the race.

Cafe Facilities: Please note that limited cafe facilities will be available on the evening.

Marshals Required – Can You Help?

We are still looking for a few more course marshals to help us on the evening.

If you have any family or friends coming along to support you who would be happy to help out while you're running, we would really appreciate it!

No experience is needed and we'll provide all the information they need on the evening.
