LOCATION: Trimdon Grange Community Centre, Salters Lane, Trimdon Grange, Trimdon Station, TS29 6PB

REGISTRATION: In the Community Centre, between 5:30pm and 6:20pm. Beware, the last to register may find themselves facing more than they bargained for…

START TIME: The run begins at the stroke of 6:30pm. Don’t be late… the darkness doesn’t wait!

FACILITIES: Toilets are available. Do bring an extra pair of shoes to change into if you plan to re-enter the community centre. NO MUDDY SHOES ALLOWED—though you may find it hard to keep your feet clean after the chilling trek ahead!

PARKING: There is FREE parking at the local shops nearby, but spaces are hauntingly limited. Street parking is also available. Please be considerate to the locals… we wouldn’t want to disturb the spirits in the area.

RACE NUMBERS: Your race numbers will be collected on the day in registration. Keep them close, for they are your only link to the land of the living.

THE EVENT: On Wednesday, 29th October 2025, at 6:30pm, you will embark on a treacherous journey. The starting line is located on an open field—a place where ghostly apparitions have been sighted in the past. From here, you will complete one loop before descending into the depths of a haunted woodland. A 5k multi-terrain course awaits you, where shadows whisper in the trees and the cold ground crunches beneath your feet.

Once out of the woods, you will tread a tarmac path, only to be drawn back into the cursed forest for a second lap. Beware of what lurks in the dark… for no one knows what—or who—may leap out from behind the trees! After your encounter with the nearby cemetery, you’ll find yourself back on the field for a final push before crossing the finish funnel. If you make it that far, that is…

THE ROUTE: The Halloween 5km route

IMPORTANT: The Zombies and Ghosts along the course have been instructed not to touch you. But be warned, they will come close—very close. You must resist the urge to strike them, for that may anger them, and no one can predict the consequences of that…

HEAD/CHEST TORCHES: You MUST wear your head/chest torch at all times during the race. No head/chest torch, no run! Ensure your torch is fully charged before the night begins. Once the shadows descend, there is no light but what you carry. A tail runner will follow, and marshals will be placed along the route. Should you need help, find the nearest marshal—but hurry, for darkness is always closing in.

COSTUMES: We can’t wait to see your haunting costumes! But remember, safety first. Ensure your outfit doesn’t pose a danger to yourself or other runners. Stay clear of anything that might snag on the trees or get tangled in the vegetation.

PHOTOGRAPHS & FILMING: As always, there will be photographs and filming throughout the event to capture your spooky experience. Smile—if you dare!

REWARDS: Prizes will be to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd male and female finishers. Every brave soul who makes it to the end will receive a delicious portion of homemade soup (suitable for vegetarians) and a roll.  Once you have completed the run please make your way back to the community centre to collect your well earned soup and roll this will prevent mega queues.
